Thirteen days ago we packed up our van, and headed off on a new adventure. The drive was very nice, and the kids enjoyed seeing new things along the way. Some were more into the scenery, while others were fascinated by all the animals we saw.
A little bump in our trip landed us in Oregon for an unplanned over night stay in a hotel. While going over a pass, my van started acting funny. I knew something just wasn't right, so before something went completely wrong, I pulled over. It was evening time, so finding an open shop was just not happening. Luckily we found a very nice shop, full of even nicer mechanics. They put us in a room free of charge, and the next morning fixed our van. I was dreading hearing the costs, but this wonderful shop fixed our van free of charge, and we were back on the road.
We ended up arriving at our new home on my third son's 6th birthday. We did a little celebrating with some cupcakes and pizza before crashing for the night.
We have been in our new house for 11 days now, and we are starting to settle in. We are starting with a very empty house, because we only took what fit in our van, which makes for quite a fun adventure. Slowly but surely we are getting what we need, as we need it.
The weather and culture is quite different from the rainly PNW we are used to, but so far we are really enjoying it here. The kids just love having their own pool in their back yard, and we are taking full advantage of it.
I look forward to seeing what this new adventure brings us!
